QUADSIMU – FPV SIMULATOR IN WEB-BROWSER

This is still a simple simulator but it already has some interesting properties enabled. As the name suggests, QUADSIMU aspires to become a realistic simulator for the FREESTYLE and RACING drone type. At least one day…

There are drones for precise terrain scanning, or for recording high-quality video. Not so fast but very stable. There are for example racing drones, where the speed plays a major role. There are also drills used to practice FREESTYLE with a predisposition for quick maneuvers.

An FPV simulator helps you learn how to fly racing drones on a computer, any time, any where, regardless of weather and without damages from crashes. It’s the best way to practice your flying skills and build muscle memory of certain moves. Whether you are new and still learning how not to crash, or getting the hang of a challenging acrobatic trick, simulators are highly helpful for beginners and advanced pilots alike.

However, today he wants to take you on a small journey into what is already in QUADSIMU. What to expect and plans for the future. O.K. Let me start by saying that this is not something new. Simulators of flying drones have existed for some time and QUADSIMU does not intend to be a competition but rather an additional option.

IN THE BEGINNING

QUADSIMU is a confirmation of the functionality of one of the upcoming asset FPV QUADCOPTER for Unreal Engine 4 developers. But this is a more commercial name and more understandable to what it refers to, then PIDQUAT.

This is the original name which is a combination of PID controller, Quaternions, and mix motor algorithm, creating the core of QUADSIMU.

Experimental

QUADSIMU is in experimental mode!

What does it mean?

Very much … Our young simulator is embedded in a web browser. It’s C ++ and Unreal Engine 4 blueprints compiled to HTML5. Such applications are still in experimental mode. CHROME and FIREFOX and other browsers work hard to make this feature available. Similarly, developers from the UE4 are trying to provide full support. So we can expect a lot of changes. And this is a very exciting time!

QUADSIMU FPV SIMULATOR is available for testing on the above browsers. Last update to version v.05 introducing new features such as:

  • Destruction system based on momentum during impact.
  • PID parameters exposed.
  • ESC parameters exposed.
  • Transmitter parameters exposed.
  • Motor parameters exposed.
  • The weight of the device is exposed.

…Including patches and another small optimizes.

What’s next?

I have many ideas a few of them are already on the TODO list. Sometimes you have to put everything on one card, on this one horse in a race for $ 1,000,000.
