Haunebu – 2 – Concept
The Haunebu – 2 – Little story
The Haunebu – 1 first flew in 1939 and both prototypes made 52 test flights. In 1942, the enlarged Haunebu 2 of 26 meters diameter was ready for flight testing. This machine had a crew of nine and could also achieve supersonic flight of 6,000 to 21,000 km/h with a flight endurance of 55 hours. Haunebu II had heat shielding of two hulls of Victalen. The craft were constructed and tested between 1943-44. The diameter of the vessel was notably increased to 32 meters, so the vessel could accommodate up to 20 people, and this vessel was named Haunebu II Do-Stra (Dornier STRAtosphären Flugzeug). Seven of these vessels were built, making a total of 106 test flights.
Haunebu II was subsequently subjected to numerous alterations, experiments and improvements in the period 1943-1944 under the assistance of engineers from Dornier aircraft factory. See more on Wikipedia – Nazi UFO.
About the project
This is a continuation and upgrade to the Nazi UFO project. See Haunebu I. This time I am going to make one of the first prototype of the Haunebu 2, with a disk size of about 30 m. average. There will be two types available. Free – Static mesh like Haunebu 1. Perfect for throwing in the scene, and Premium – Skeletal mesh with interior finish as cockpits with navigation instruments, chairs, cabinets, etc. Also it will come with animations for landing gears, hatches, turrets, etc. Ready for further work in Unreal Engine 4. Both will come in 4k pbr textures.
